Fall in love with the heart of New York State.  As the hop capital of the country in the late 1800s, it’s no wonder Central New York is brimming with craft beverages. Sip your way through local hot spots including micro and nano-breweries. Craft beer, wine, cider and spirits – Madison County has them all. We’re home to Good Nature Farm Brewery, one of the state’s first farm breweries, plus the largest farm brewery on the east coast, Empire Farm Brewery

Unwind as you strike your child’s pose with goat yoga. And what is better than goat yoga? Wine and goat yoga! It’s been touted by the media as one of the top ten most amazing things in the world and necessary for any bucket list!

Sports fanatics will love the National Baseball Hall of Fame and find the International Boxing Hall of Fame to be a real knock-out!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Chittenango, where you’ll find “All Things Oz” and even lions and tigers and bears—seriously! The birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Chittenango is lush with Oz pride. Each June the village celebrates its native son with the annual Oz-Stravaganza festival that’s complete with authors and illustrators who continue the Oz legacy, fireworks, amusement rides, and one of the region’s largest parades.

You’ll spend time at Rock City Park, the world’s largest outcropping of quartz conglomerate before exploring the newly opened Onöhsagwë:dé Cultural Center featuring Seneca arts, culture and history.   • Ithaca is famous for its many waterfalls, more than 100 within 10 miles of downtown. If you put them all together, it’s a waterfall 7,342 feet tall. That’s 1.39 miles of falling water!
  • The first ice cream sundae was invented by a local fountain owner Chester Platt and Unitarian reverend John Scott on April 3, 1892.
  • Ithaca takes its name from the Greek island of Ithaca in Homer’s Odyssey.

Spend your days touring the historic Dunkirk Lighthouse, National Comedy Center located in the hometown of beloved Lucille Ball, and cultural community of Chautauqua Institution. Retire each evening to comfort and splendor of a private room at the new Chautauqua Harbor Hotel.
